Front End Web Development

By the end of the course you’ll be able to take a design, break it into its component parts and build a well thought through front end experience.

The course is perfect for anyone who is looking to add front end web development skills to their existing creative skillset.

Learn the main languages of the front end web over 10 weeks part-time .

During the ten week course we’ll cover the main languages of the front end web – HTML, CSS and some Javascript. You’ll be introduced to each language in a controlled manner, getting a deep understanding of how they fit together and compliment one another. We’ll also cover the role of the front end developer and how they fit into a wider product team, and key concepts such as tooling, debugging and testing.

As your learning evolves, we’ll start to look deeper at performance, optimisation and accessibility considerations you can bring into your skillset, helping you understand where and how to research new tools and techniques.

Learn by Doing

By the end of the course you’ll be able to take a design, break it into its component parts and build a well thought through front end
experience that’s optimised for a variety of devices and screen sizes, browser tested, optimised for speed, search engines and accessibility.

You’ll also come away with the research techniques and toolset knowledge to help you interrogate front end experiences that peak your interest and learn from them.

In order to encourage discussion and collaboration we limit our class sizes to 8 students.
