Front End Web Development

A little bit about Experience Haus

We’re a group of passionate designers bringing together people with design. We host creative workshops and courses for the curious – and we also connect students with mentors within the industry. Our philosophy is simple: learn by doing.

As our industry is constantly evolving, we’re always looking to learn – which is why we know the value of affordable education. We’re living in a city where the cost of living is high, so our goal is to keep your cost of education low.

What will you learn?

The course covers everything you’ll need to know to start building front end experiences. Over the 10 weeks we’ll cover the main languages of the front end web – HTML, CSS and some Javascript. You’ll be introduced to each language in a controlled manner, getting a deep understanding of how they fit together and compliment one another. We’ll also cover the role of the front end developer and how they fit into a wider product team, and key concepts such as tooling, debugging and testing.

As your learning evolves, we’ll start to look deeper at performance, optimisation and accessibility considerations you can bring into your skillset, helping you understand where and how to research new tools and techniques.

By the end of the course you’ll be able to take a design, break it into its component parts and build a well thought through front end experience that’s optimised for a variety of devices and screen sizes, browser tested, optimised for speed, search engines and accessibility. You’ll also come away with the research techniques and toolset knowledge to help you interrogate front end experiences that peak your interest and learn from them.
